Ludwig Van Beethoven

Never shall I forget the time I spent with you.
Please continue to be my friend, as you will
always find me yours.

Neil Gaiman

“Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love.”

CONTEMPLATION

HOU, O my Grief, be wise and tranquil still,
The eve is thine which even now drops down,
To carry peace or care to human will,
And in a misty veil enfolds the town.

While the vile mortals of the multitude,
By pleasure, cruel tormentor, goaded on,
Gather remorseful blossoms in light mood--
Grief, place thy hand in mine, let us be gone

Far from them. Lo, see how the vanished years,
      In robes outworn lean over heaven's rim;
And from the water, smiling through her tears,

      Remorse arises, and the sun grows dim;
And in the east, her long shroud trailing light,
List, O my grief, the gentle steps of Night.

THE TEMPTATION

HE Demon, in my chamber high,
This morning came to visit me,
And, thinking he would find some fault,
He whispered: "I would know of thee

      Among the many lovely things
That make the magic of her face,
Among the beauties, black and rose,
That make her body's charm and grace,

Which is most fair?" Thou didst reply
To the Abhorred, O soul of mine:
"No single beauty is the best
When she is all one flower divine.

When all things charm me I ignore
      Which one alone brings most delight;
She shines before me like the dawn,
And she consoles me like the night.

The harmony is far too great,
That governs all her body fair,
      For impotence to analyse
And say which note is sweetest there.

      O mystic metamorphosis!
My senses into one sense flow--
Her voice makes perfume when she speaks,
Her breath is music faint and low!"

“Alone”

From childhood’s hour I have not been
As others were—I have not seen
As others saw—I could not bring
My passions from a common spring—
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow—I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone—
And all I lov’d—I lov’d alone—
Then—in my childhood—in the dawn
Of a most stormy life—was drawn
From ev’ry depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still—
From the torrent, or the fountain—
From the red cliff of the mountain—
From the sun that ’round me roll’d
In its autumn tint of gold—
From the lightning in the sky
As it pass’d me flying by—
From the thunder, and the storm—
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view—

What I Wanted

What I Wanted

I guess what I wanted was to hear
you'd stay with me always.
I guess what I wanted was to see
those hands vowing never to leave my own.
I guess what I wanted to know was
I am not loving in vain.

"I Guess What I Wanted Was"

"I Guess What I Wanted Was"

I guess what I
wanted was
to hear

you'd stay with me always.

I guess what I
wanted was
to see

those hands vowing
never to leave my own.

I guess what
I wanted was
to know

I am not loving in vain.

Don't Stand Too Close To Prophets From Missouri

My ribcage shatters apart to expose
Splintering fragments of brittle bone
I scrape them up into a pile
Offer them to you with a smile
Carving into this sordid heart of mine
With ink spilled from the grip of your fingertips
It spells the words I've never heard
Uttered from the sinister curls of your lips
And the lusting lick of your desire across my death bed of wilted roses
I feel your hunger devouring what's left of mine to give
Your kisses I repress with my tongue
But I'll give in until you're done
I'll beg for more down on knees with prayers
when our course has had its run into the immolation of the sun
We'll end our affairs and leave it unrepaired
dwelling in the darkness that we've built upstairs
I fall into your black tracing scars upon your attack
I feel the bones break in your back
When we collapse our arms around ourselves
Holding tight into a mendacious night
seething with tumultuous roars
Our bellies hungrily ache for each others' taste
We satiate ourselves until the early whisper of dawn
Leaving our scars in scraps of flesh and song
The bite of your bitterness sings along

So tattered I leave beside you
So shattered I break inside you
So torn to be reborn without you

We mourn the morning of our scorn
Pressing it into the palms of our hands
Pushing deeper this belly ache of rotten thoughts and perceptions
Those secret discretions buried clear in our deceptions and flatlined intentions
We have lived this life we give with smoldered chances rendered
Not a moment to spare for the tired or mentored
Guided by the guilty jilted mistakes of our indiscretions
Our hands are bathed in the blood of our love
It takes every ounce of me not to give in to reminiscing of missing what we're dismissing
We're lost searching with no profound calling to take hold of our hands and lead us into the light
just speechless apparitions given into desperations of heartache and failure
seeking a savior to release this pressure building inside the beating of our entwined hearts

Mistakes I've Made

I've made my share of mistakes. I lost count somewhere along the way between heartache and heartbreak. I am transient. I've made so many mistakes. I've hurt enough friends and been hurt enough to know when it isn't worth it. I know when to run. I've made mistakes by judging too quickly by giving up too easily. I've made mistakes by holding on too long. Yeah, I've made mistakes when deciding who to trust. I've made mistakes by talking when I shouldn't and trusting blindly. I've made mistakes. I've hurt others, I've been hurt. I have loved, I have lost those I loved. I've made mistakes. I once thought forever was a promise. I learned that promises can't be kept when you die. I've made mistakes, given power to those who don't deserve it- could never earn it, are not worth it. I've been hurt so many times that I began to realize the point isn't to learn from my mistakes. The point is to run away and never face them. I've made mistakes. I have hurt those I love and I have loved those who hurt me. They will never be forgiven. I've lied so many times my mind has become unrecognizable - a twisted disfigurement of reality. I've made so many mistakes. I know how to recognize them. I know when to call it over, I know when it's not worth it. I know when I cannot take any more. I know I've made mistakes. I will never be perfect. My life is a never ending train of screw-ups, but I have finally realized something. I have learned that through all of the mistakes I have made, everything I haven't done right, knowing you never was, will never be a mistake. ~Elizabeth Grace

Ralph Waldo Emerson

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

Thomas Moore

"Romantic love is an illusion. Most of us discover this truth at the end of a love affair or else when the sweet emotions of love lead us into marriage and then turn down their flames."

Socrates

"The hottest love has the coldest end."

Charles Bukowski

"This is very important -- to take leisure time. Pace is the essence. Without stopping entirely and doing nothing at all for great periods, you're gonna lose everything...just to do nothing at all, very, very important. And how many people do this in modern society? Very few. That's why they're all totally mad, frustrated, angry and hateful."

Charles Bukowski

"We're all going to die, all of us, what a circus! That alone should make us love each other but it doesn't. We are terrorized and flattened by trivialities, we are eaten up by nothing."

Petite raven
I see you
Wanting to disturb the peace
See you
On the branch of the tree
Listening to me
Distracting and converting
My thoughts and speech
Petite raven
You personify me
My deepest fears
Of being alone
In the night with nothing to do
But stare and stare
Through random widows
Petite raven
You have made things clear
I will go to her and ask her hand
And if no she says, well before you came
Plans I’ve made
Let’s just say I will get my way

AMOS LEE - BETTER DAYS LYRICS

The darkness has always been The world was born into a blanket of sin When all the faith's been gone Still we found a reason to carry on
Through the worry, worry, worry Caught in an endless maze Oh, when the lights go out all that I can think about Is how we've seen better days
And lover lately I've been thinking I might leave you As you're surrounded by these fools who do deceive you Yes our past is wretched true but I'm still in love with you And that's why I am still refusing to give in to
All this worry, worry, worry Caught in an endless maze But when the lights go out all that I can think about Is how we've seen better days
Where do we go from here While we're all so consumed by fear? Well, I'm trying not to be suspicious towards, I'm suspicious of I'm trying to crack open this angry heart and find a little love
Still I worry, worry, worry Caught in an endless maze When the lights go out all that I can think about Is how we've seen better days Yeah, when the lights go out all that I can dream about Is how, we've seen better days

Not Another Soul by Katrina Wendt

Not Another Soul
by Katrina Wendt

Not everyone sees what I see,
But I didn’t realize that you looked different to them,
That maybe it wasn’t so obvious
Like I thought it was.

This confused me
Because I thought I’d have to fight for you
But maybe I discovered my own Narnia;
Hidden, safe from others.

The ground I’m standing on isn’t even
Because I still don’t know what to think of this (of us)
I could ask, but I’ve asked before
Somehow I don’t think it would help.

I look at the moon and the stars and the grass
I smell the night air
And I feel the Universe is at peace.
Telling me don’t hold my breath, have patience.

This in-between step intrigues me
This is all new for me;
The happenings, the feelings, the communication,
And I have a front row seat to how this unfolds.

Would anybody really understand?
We’re just two lovers,
Trapped by our lives,
Waiting for that break in time.

I freeze
When I want to talk to you.
My heart pounds
When I think of you.

I care so deeply for you
More than I thought was possible without love.
My soul… misses you,
Longs for your touch.

Friendship is all you can give
And all I can ask for, for now.
But someday, there will come a day
And then, we’ll be together.

Take What You Want From Me and Be Happy by Katrina Wendt

If I had an inch I'd give you a mile
If you were a frown I'd give you a thousand smiles
I'd give you the world if you asked
But all I want you to have is my heart

I'll write you a song if that's what you want
Then tear it all up if you don't
I'll show you my mind and give you my heart
Just promise you won't rip it apart

I want to know how you are
I want to know your heart and soul
Your voice is a work of art
I wish you could be mine to hold

I never could move on from your eyes
They'd haunt me wherever I go
Quitting isn't always so bad
When giving up on the impossible

Honestly I'd be crazy not to love you
Although the effect seems the same either way
I have dreams of spending forever with you
I wonder if you'd want to stay?

A Clockwork Orange

But, brothers, this biting of their toe-nails over what is the cause of badness is what turns me into a fine laughing malchick. They don't go into the cause of goodness, so why the other shop? If lewdies are good that's because they like it, and I wouldn't ever interfere with their pleasures, and so of the other shop. And I was patronizing the other shop. More, badness is of the self, the one, the you or me on our oddy knockies, and that self is made by old Bog or God and is his great pride and radosty. But the not-self cannot have the bad, meaning they of the government and the judges and the schools cannot allow the bad because they cannot allow the self. And is not our modern history, my brothers, the story of brave malenky selves fighting these big machines? I am serious with you, brothers, over this. But what I do I do because I like to do.

You Are:

You Are:

Sad and sitting
in the rain
scrawling nonsense
on yellowing copy-paper,
marooned
on the islands of self,
staring blindly
out at the world,
as it rockets by
at the speed
of sanity.

- William Shakespeare, King Lear

Who is it that can tell me who I am?"

Daughter

A daughter is a bundle of firsts that excite and delight
giggles that come from deep inside and are always contagious
everything wonderful and precious and ur love for her knows no bounds.
